For over ten years, the Hays County Sheriff's Academy has provided the best quality law enforcement training to it's officers and those of surrounding agencies.

The Academy has a complete curriculum, ranging from the Basic Peace Officer Course consisting of approximately 760 hours and the Basic Corrections Officer Course consisting of 80 hours as well as a wide range of In-Service Courses.

The Hays County Sheriff's Academy Advisory Board consists of qualified members from every corner of Hays County and meets quarterly to review and discuss training issues.  Instructors come from within the different divisions of the Sheriff's Office, from the corrections division, deputy and through the command level.  Outside instructors are used based on qualifications and expertise.

The Hays County Sheriff's Academy has earned a respected and professional reputation among its peers, as a progressive leader in law enforcement training.  The Academy is dedicated to the continuous pursuit of excellence in law enforcement training and strives to be in the forefront to meet the challenges faced by today's law enforcement professionals.
